How Visionary Martial Arts Doubled in 14 Months
A father-and-son team running a 60-member school followed their MyStudio account manager's strategy to turn events into a lead engine. Fourteen months later, membership had doubled, three new staff joined the team, and the studio had grown from two people doing everything to a real business with a team behind it.
The challenge
When Visionary Martial Arts joined MyStudio in March 2025, the operation was small and stretched. Just 60 active members. Two people running everything — the owner and his son. Teaching, admin, sales, and marketing all fell on the same two pairs of hands. Growth meant either working more hours or finding leverage. There weren't more hours available.
What they did
Their MyStudio account manager suggested a strategy Tu Le talks about constantly on The Simple Profit Podcast: stop treating events as programs and start treating them as lead engines. Parents' Night Out. Birthday parties. Summer camps. Each event became an opportunity to bring new families through the door — and, more importantly, to capture their contact information directly into MyStudio, where the platform could keep the relationship going long after the event ended.
The owner listened to the podcast, put the playbook into action inside MyStudio's event registration and communication tools, and stayed consistent.
